"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." Col. 4:6
The words that come out of our mouths are very powerful, and as simple as this command sounds, watching what we say, what we're talking about and with who we're talking with can be a struggle. i strive to become better than i used to be, but i find myself struggling at times with reverting back to my old ways of thinking. Having to check what i surround myself with, i stand on guard. Whether it be secular music or a conversation at work, the words that are flung around me tend to test my mind and heart. At times i slip, and i become my old self. A curse word, a reminiscing session of my old rebellious days, or standing and gossiping on matters that has nothing to do with me.
The social beings that we are makes this command so difficult, but we have to be discipline in our daily walks. Words are powerful, but instead of allow slanderous words of gossip fill your mouth, allow the grace and the merciful words of God come from your heart.
"If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 4:11
