Behind my parents' house there are woods aligned with a multitude of trees. i used to love to venture into the woods as if i was going to discover a hidden treasure or relic, but one day after watching a wood chopping competition on television, i decided i was going to chop down a tree. So i went into my father's shed and got his ax and tried to become what i saw on TV. In middle school at the time, the ax was heavy, but also dull. Using all my energy, i earnestly tried to chop at the tree, but in my dismay i barely put a dent into the bark. Tired and bewildered i decided to give it one more try. With all my might, i swung so hard that the ax bounced back from the tree and hit my leg. By the grace of God, my stupidity didn't cause any long-term physical effects, but it taught me a great lesson.
People who excel sharpen their skills. They never stop developing … growing … learning … improving. “If the ax is dull, and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.” (Ecclesiastes 10:10) It takes more than desire to excel, it takes skill! And skill can always be improved. Remember – You’re never wasting time when you are sharpening your “ax.”
i wasn't ready to handle my father's ax, because my skills were dull and unsharpened, but now that i've grown and developed myself, constantly trying to improve in my weaknesses, i find my skills bringing me success.
Sharpen your skills, develop your mind and continue to grow in God's Will.
God is Love and He Loves you and so do i
