"Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food." Proverb 12: 9
It is better to be meek, then self-proclaimed. It is better to be humble then wanting to be exalted, for those of a meek and humble heart will follow the life of a servant. When we learn to serve, we become more like the ultimate servant, earning the respect of all. Where as someone pretending to be a man of nobler remarks, or becoming a man seeking acclaim, will not have the respect of others, but will find envy and jealous from their peers. Others will eagerly seek to take from you, the fame, money and power.
Serving others bridges gaps and breaks down walls. Learn to serve others and people will courageously serve you. Plant seeds of servitude and diligent works, and you'll find that your table will be full of food.
