" They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on the him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly." Mark 8: 22-25
The Almighty can be characterized by many names. Today lets focus on Teacher (Rabbi) and Healer (Rophe). In Mark 8, Jesus is performing a miracle on healing a blind man. But instead of Jesus simply touching and healing the man, Jesus gradually restored his sight. But couldn't Jesus just heal him in one touch? Didn't He have the power? The answer doesn't lie in the lack of divine power, but maybe in the lack of human readiness. Maybe Jesus healed the man in stages to reveal a deeper point… Healing and Restoration is a Process. " Knowing we can only bear so much light, Jesus never forces us to see the whole truth but only enables us to see it as we are willing and able." (Ann Spangler) Friends today ask the Lord to heal your spiritual blindness, Pray for the faith to see and the grace to learn.
