Let every breath, give praise to God. Music is powerful. Working in a school, i am able to see, first hand the repercussions of the negative influences of music and the misleading messages. From speech, to apparel even the way they walk, our youth and adults have morphed and created an image of what they deem to be praise worthy. i know, you may think, "what do you mean praise, i just like the song". But music has become more.
Music has become our parents, for kids listen more to the confine in their music before their parents. Music has become our preach, for we listen more to song, then messages from the alter. Music has become our moral compass, as we adhere to the steps, movements and commands of music. The word says faith comes for the word and hearing of the word. What words are you listening too? What song does your heart sing? A quick test would be what song were you praising this morning, did it give honor to God, or did it glorify this world? Music is a powerful weapon, and all music isn't bad. i love R&B and Soulful music, but when i replace my morning praise with words of love making, my day somehow evolves around those words. Evaluate yourself, what are you praising, what are you glorifying?
